Nightwing #80

Overall- Ah Deathstroke the Terminator... He has really become one of my favorite characters as of late. This issue starts with Deathstroke greeting Dick as he arrives at his apartment. Needless to say, Dick isn't actually pleased that Slade Wilson is hanging out at his place and wants to know what's up.

Deathstroke tells Dick that he was hired to kill someone in Bludhaven, and wanted Dick to stay out of it for his own good, telling Dick that he had a grudging respect for him. HA! Obviously, Dick says that there was no way he would allow Deathstroke to assassinate anybody in Bludhaven, and Deathstroke leaves, warning Dick to reconsider. That wacky Deathstroke, a murderer and a gentleman!

Anyway, Nightwing goes around town questioning the local lowlifes in the 'Haven to see if they know who hired Slade or who he was trying to kill. Nobody knows anything, so Dick reports to his day job, a cop with the BPD. As Dick leaves the precinct with his partner, who does Dick see watching the station house from a nearby rooftop? Why it's Deathstroke. Dick ditches his partner and runs to confront Slade, who warns Dick again to mind his business. As Dick argues with Deathstroke, Dick's partner arrives and Deathstroke shoots at him. Dick manages to escape the rooftop with his partner, but realizes that #1, Deathstroke was long gone, and #2, Dick was shot in the arm during his escape from Slade. First blood goes to Deathstroke.

I liked this issue a lot more then the last few issues. Adding Deathstroke helps me like any comic more. I got a kick out of Slade throughout this issue as usual. There were a few subplots also at work here, but right now none of them really matter, so I'll bypass them, so I can read the next issue! For a score, I'll give this issue a 7 1/2 out of 10.
