Well, we're about halfway through this miniseries, and thus far I haven't been disappointed. I'd guess things are really going to start to heat up as more of Marvel's cosmic heroes get involved in this interstellar battle. With that said, here's the review.
-This issue begins with Admiral Ka'ardum(the advisor to the Shi'ar emperor)convincing Vulcan not to kill Lilandra. Instead, Vulcan tells Gladiator to take Lilandra to the Shi'ar throne world where she will face a public trial and execution.
-Crystal talks to Ronan the Accuser, who is still hospitalized, and she keeps him updated on how the war effort is going. Later, Crystal meets with the rest of the Inhuman royal family, where she discovers the Inhumans can not follow through on the promise they made to Ronan about evolving the Kree with the Terrigen Mists.
-Finally, the Starjammers and some of the Guardians of the Galaxy attack the Shi'ar ship transporting Lilandra back to the Shi'ar throne world. The two sides battle back and forth, until Lilandra convinces Gladiator to betray Vulcan and join her side.
I DID NOT like the way this issue ended... No, I didn't like that at all. Why the hell would Gladiator betray Vulcan??? Yeah, I get that Vulcan is a nutcase and all, but Gladiator served under D'Ken, who was WAAAAY crazier than Vulcan ever was! Gladiator has ALWAYS served the will of the Shi'ar leader, no matter what.
Besides that, it looks like the Inhumans are going to screw the Kree over... Big surprise I say! The Inhumans have always been a bunch of self-serving, inbred freaks, so the fact that they're simply going to use the Kree makes perfect sense to me. Honestly, in a perfect world, Vulcan would rule the Kree, and he'd massacre the Inhumans and the Shi'ar.
With Gladiator switching sides, I really can't imagine the Shi'ar having a snowballs chance in hell at beating the Kree. For those of you not familiar with Gladiator, the guy rivals Superman in terms of power. He's already proven he can kick Vulcan's ass in an issue of Uncanny X-Men a while back, and Vulcan is arguably the most powerful mutant in existence. Oh, I REALLY don't want the Inhumans to win this war... For a score, I'll give this issue a 7 out of 10. I was really enjoying things up until Gladiator's sudden and inexplicable actions. Hopefully next issue Vulcan can turn things around.
