To be forewarned is to be forearmed... Or something along those lines.

Since I'm feeling a bit lazy tonight, and there are some essays I should probably begin working on, I won't be posting any reviews tonight. But, and trust me on this one, that's probably a good thing! Why? Looking at my new comics pile tells me it's almost time for my least favorite time of the month, BENDIS-time! I have not one, but two(!)issues of New Avengers to read, one issue of Dark Avengers and an issue of Dark Reign: The List to read, all written by the Dread Lord himself. Reading an issue of New Avengers is akin to getting a root canal, while undergoing electro-shock treatments, all while hundreds of fire ants crawl about my body! What an odd visual... Anyway, I'm sure there are some of you out there asking yourselves, "Why read something that causes you to want to gouge out your own eyes after setting yourself ablaze?". Simply put, as much as I detest, abhor, loathe, despise and hate BENDIS' Avengers work, I can't stop reading about the Avengers. I've spent too much time, energy and money on the Avengers to give up on them, no matter how horrific things get. Yeah, so if you are a fan of the New Avengers series or BENDIS, I'd definitely recommend steering clear of this blog tomorrow night! Now with that bit of ugliness out of the way, just for the heck of it, I'm going to end this post by listing the comics I ordered yesterday and expect to have in my hands sometime later on this week. That's all for now, time to get to work.

  2. I was trying to wait until the next issue of Blackest Night came out before placing this order, but as you can probably tell, I have no willpower(I'd never be a Green Lantern!). There are def a few good comics in this order, I think I'm most looking forward to Old Man Logan though, that storyline has been fantastic.

On a totally unrelated topic, I just heard today that tomorrow's episode of Hell's Kitchen is the season finale! I thought there'd be at least two more weeks! I'm going to miss that show...

  3. Lol, I'd never be a Green Lantern either so we're one in the same. I haven't heard of the Old Man Logan thing, whats the deal with that?

I saw that commercial today, I also didn't know it was the finale, but at least its two hours so Im really looking forward to it. I joined a little late but thats quickly becoming one of my favorite shows.

  4. Yeah, it especially sucks for you that HK is ending tomorrow, you've only been watching for a few weeks!

Old Man Logan is a futuristic story detailing what happened to the Marvel U after all of the villains ganged up and killed all of the heroes(well, practically all the heroes). Wolverine is one of the few heroes to survive and since the villains big victory, he's been laying low, starting up a family, until he gets dragged into a crazy trip accross the country. I'm a huge sucker for stories that occur in alternate dimensions, and this storyline has been awesome from the start.

  6. Not only was the story brilliant, the artwork(from Steve McNiven)was simply amazing(and bloody!). I'm usually more of a story oriented guy, but OML is one of the rare instances where I've been really enamoured by the art as well as the story.

  7. There's not alot of things that drive me to read based just on art, usually unless it's by Alex Ross but this sounds interesting. I'm usually not into Wolverine stuff because he's in everything Marvel does.

  8. Yeah, I only notice the artwork in a comic if it's either really, really good, or horrible, and the artwork in OML is REALLY good! You might want to wait for the TPB though, because from what I've seen, most of the earlier issues of OML are pretty steep in price.

  9. I noticed that today, I may call around and see if any of my other friends have checked it out but if not I'll wait for the TPB.
